Go Run For Fun

The Brief: 

Engage influencers and create impactful media coverage for Go Run For Fun at the Olympic Park. 

The Campaign:

When Go Run For Fun and The Daily Mile held a celebration event for 5,000 kids at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, they asked us to engage key influencers and generate impactful media coverage in London, and beyond.

Working closely with Ineos, the sponsor of both initiatives, we assembled an expert panel, featuring Olympians Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson, alongside The Daily Mile founder, Elaine Wyllie and experts from UK Active and London Sport.  The panel discussed the importance and the challenges of getting children more active, in front of an invited audience of influencers from the worlds of politics, health, teaching, sport and the media.

Set against the backdrop of thousands of children taking part in a fun run at the Olympic Park, the panel discussion provided ideal content for media including the Evening Standard, BBC and London Live.

On the morning of the event, Colin Jackson toured the BBC studios, appearing live on Radio 4’s Today Programme and 5 Live sports bulletins.

Outcomes:

Earned media with a reach of over 10 million

Children’s activity and health put firmly on the agenda amongst key decision makers
